Comets tail




I have a curiosity . How long is the tail of a comet?

The comets that are passing near the Sun have no tail. Although as a rule, comets’ tails are very long. The tail of Halley’s comet was about 160 million kilometres long, longer than the distance between the Earth and the Sun. The Great comet of 1843 had a tail over 480 million kilometres in length.

Hi there!
These are technical/scientific facts. I don’t think anyone is the publisher /owner of them. Basically they were discovered by some space agency / astronomer.
